What Lucy Thinks of The Ace Online Business Success

May 1, 2011 in About Online Business Success, ACE Online Business, Social Media

Lucy took part in the first Online Business Success Course.

Lucy Davies says, “I love the step-by-step approach – it stops me getting overwhelmed.  I just focus on whatever the email tells me to do and trust that it will build into something bigger, which it is doing. I find the ‘how to’ videos really useful and think it is good how the information is presented in different ways (info in email, video, practical task, etc) which helps the information to sink in and also takes account of different learning styles. I also love the fact that you’ve given me a system – for example, half a day a month planning my blog, a session a week writing it.  It makes it much easier to keep going.”

Right now, Erica and Antonia are creating something NEW for every business woman who wants to:

  • bring in more money,
  • learn new skills
  • be part of a supportive community
  • achieve success
  • and do all this and have time to spend with the family.

Growing Your Business through Learning New Skills

March 30, 2011 in About ACEInspire

Do you get regular updates to your own skills? As a business owner it is all to easy to assume that you can learn on the job, and all to hard to find time to take days off to go on training courses. Training and mentoring is vital to your business growth, and usually proves to be a great investment. As Erica Douglas explains, “When I first started blogging I did a 6 month blogging course which cost about £180.  I’ve made that investment back several times over. Antonia and I invested nearly £600 on e-training: what we learnt has brought in many, many times over that amount. I’m now investing £17,000 in a degree.”

Whether you have £30, £300 or £3000, investing in education and training is wholly worth it, as long as you take action on what you learn. Paying for training will save you money in the long run as you get to your goals faster, using what you learn. Sometimes, picking things up by yourself or learning as you go can be a false economy. Think about how you could invest in training to help you reach your goals!
Next week we’ll be looking at why community matters to your business success.  If you enjoyed this article and want to know more about flexible training  to help you grow your business, sign up for our early notification list ….

How Market Research Can Work For you

January 23, 2011 in Featured, Online Marketing

When you are working out your plans for promotion, it helps if you have a clear idea about who you are trying to reach. If you have an existing business, think about your current customers and those who you would like to attract to purchase from your business.

If you are just starting up, you may need to use a bit of imagination to work out who your potential customers are, but with a little market research you can find out a lot of information.

A little research now can save you hundreds or thousands of pounds in the long run. Test your market before you invest money in your business, and you will know how to best target your funds.

Whether you are in business already or just at the planning stages, a survey is a useful tool to help you pin down the right groups of people to aim your promotion activities at. You can ask people about your products or services and get feedback n whether they might buy, and if not, why not.

Creating an Email List

January 20, 2011 in email marketing, Featured, Social Media

What is an email list?

An email list is a collection of email addresses that have opted in to receive correspondence from a business or individual, this usually involves the person behind the email address ‘opting in’ to receive a newsletter, updates or an e-course.

Why should you build an email list?

If you have a hobby blog then you may wish to offer more specific content to certain sections of your audience, you may offer a newsletter, or even an e-course on a topic you’re knowledgeable about. If you have a business blog, or a blog you hope to make money from you may wish to build an email list to promote products and services (amongst other content).

How to create an email list?

Whatever the reason for starting an email list the best, most efficient and crucially legal way of doing so is by using an ESP or Email Service Provider. There are many ESP’s to choose from, if you search in Google for ‘email service provider’ a selection will come up. I use Aweber and I can highly recommend them.

Once you’ve signed up with an ESP and followed the instructions you will reach a point where you’re able to get code for a sign up form template which you can paste into your blog or website. When someone signs up their email address and details are captured by the ESP, you’re then free to send emails which are known as either broadcasts or follow ups from the dashboard of your ESP.

Broadcast

A broadcast is an email that you send to your entire list at the same time.

Follow-up

A follow-up is an email that is sent to members depending on when they signed up. Follow ups can be created to make a sequence, which can become an e-course.

Become a Mumpreneur Membership Site

January 6, 2011 in Become a Mumpreneur

Over the last few months we’ve been devising the plan for the Become a Mumpreneur Membersip Site and now finally, after lots of planning we have the structure and schedule in place.

The membership site will be made up of e-lessons sent to your inbox and a private members area that will host multi-media study materials along with a live chat area and a forum.

We see the BaM! membership site as a place where people can walk in one end, a complete novice and graduate with the business or income streams of their dreams.

What we provide in between is step by step instructional and motivational material, along with group support and monthly expert webinars. But it’s your sweat and tears that will ultimately afford you the lifestyle that you dream of. In short it’ s the most comprehensive course we’ve attempted to create and we’re VERY excited about what people can achieve if they put the hard work in.

The course will be split into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, but you pay the same monthly fee throughout. That one fee covers all your materials and access to the members area.

The course is too lengthy to break down completely here, but here’s roughly how it breaks down;

Beginner – e-Lessons are one every three days and focus on you taking those first steps to earning your own income. We focus on mindset, taking action and dealing with failure. Within the first few weeks you should be earning enough to cover your BaM! subscription. By the end of this section you should be earning a steady but small part-time income.

Intermediate – We focus on taking your seed idea and growing it into something more established. e-Lessons cover everything you need to know about running a small business and creating a business plan. Monthly expert webinars will focus on specialised areas. By the end of this section your income should have completely replaced your ‘work’ income.

Advanced – The e-lessons look at finding more customers, creating the work/life balance you dream of, expanding and selling your business. Webinar experts will be people that have been there and done it. You’ll only reach this level of success if you work extremely hard at your idea, however if you achieve it then your earnings are uncapped and may even include a lump sum on selling your business.

This isn’t a get rich quick scheme the planned course content runs for well over a year, and we’re constantly adding more valuable resources. Businesses aren’t built in five minutes

You can Win Lifetime Membership to the BaM! Become a Mumpreneur Membership Site launching on 17th January 2011 on the Become a Mumpreneur blog.

The lucky winner will receive complete and full membership to the site which includes all e-lessons, access to the private members area, access to monthly expert webinars and all the bonuses too.

Closing date is Monday 10th January so get over there now and enter!

If you’re ready to try something different this year and ready to work very hard then now is the time to join us. It’s a brand new course and we’ll be offering it at it’s lowest price ever to those who join our notification list and decide to join the course in the first 24 hours of us opening. We’ll be offering a 30 day money back guarantee anyway so you really have nothing to lose, and EVERYTHING to gain. Join the early notification list below and change the course of your 2011!

An Introduction to Facebook for Business

November 26, 2010 in Featured, Social Media

Facebook Pictures, Images and PhotosFacebook isn’t just for keeping up with your friends and playing games, it can be a great business tool. Used in the right way Facebook is a simple and effective way to interact with existing customers and draw in new customers.

If you’re using Facebook socially, it is an easy step to turn it into another way people can find out about your business news. Go to ‘groups’ and click the ‘set up a group’ button or click on the link at the bottom of any ‘page’ to set up a page. A group is ideal if you want to promote a membership organisation or club, while a page is more appropriate for most businesses.

Once you have entered the details asked for, add some content. If you have a blog use Networked Blogs to add your blog to your page so that the content feeds through automatically. Send messages about your page to your friends and ask them to highlight it to people who they think might be interested.

Once you have a few fans of your page, your messages will be seen by them and, more importantly, by their friends who visit their profiles. The word can spread about your business to people who are contacts of your contacts.

Add in the occasional exclusive offer for Facebook fans of your page and people will have even more reason to sign up.

An Introduction to Twitter for Business

November 18, 2010 in Featured, Social Media

Social media can be daunting if it is new to you. If you aren’t blogging and tweeting, you are actually turning away potential sales and missing the chance to tell customers all about your business and why it is just what they need.

Twitter is a simple concept, but it can seem hard to work out how best to use it.

The sign up page is easy, and writing 140 character messages takes next to no time. What can seem tricky, though, is to get the right balance of messages that motivate people to buy and interesting items to attract followers. Plus, should you be Tweeting about personal matters as well as business?

Twitter is great because it is another way to build relationships, and relationships help people to know you, to trust you and to buy from you whether you run a tiny business or have your sights set on becoming an international enterprise. It allows you to respond rapidly to people’s enquiries, find those who want to know about what you offer and spread the word about sales and promotions.

The way to make Twitter work for you is to have a strategy. Think of 12 promotions and offers that you will be running this year – that’s one for each month. Then, plan your month’s marketing activities around that promotion, and tie your Tweets in too.

Use a service like SocialOomph.com to schedule in Tweets highlighting that month’s promotion. I find a countdown like ‘just 3 days left for this month’s offer’ works to add an incentive for people to click through to your site.

Like most social media it is free to use, join up to Twitter today and start tweeting.
